Welcome to Our Chapter
Welcome to the Central Florida Chapter of Women in Defense, founded in 1985 by women leaders in the Central Florida and Research Park communities to engage, cultivate, and advance women’s careers in defense and national security.
Orlando is the world’s epicenter of the Modeling, Simulation, and Training Community, the home to four DoD Services and the Veteran’s Administration.
We serve and engage the community through professional development, networking, scholarships programs, and outreach with local Central Florida organizations, including Military and Federal: PEO STRI, STE CFT, NAWCTSD, PM TRASYS, AFAMS, STTC, ACC Orlando, ADL, Tech Grove, and VHA SimLEARN; Industry: including hundreds of companies in Research Park and Central Florida; Organizations: Team Orlando, NDIA, NTSA, National Center for Simulation and the National Security Innovation Network; and Academia: the University of Central Florida and the Institute of Simulation and Training.
We are an active chapter and host events every month, which include our annual scholarship awards, the annual Carol F. Denton Golf Challenge at Top Golf, and a variety of networking and educational events.
We invite all members of the community to become a member of WID CFL. And we are actively seeking sponsors for our STEM Scholarships and events. Please contact us for membership and sponsorship opportunities.
We hope you will engage with WID CFL!
